Welcome Parents/Guardians,
I will be your student’s history teacher. This is my 10th year teaching. I am certified for both ELA and SS in both Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your student this year. If you have any questions feel free to ask. My email is [email protected] Below I have listed my expectations. Please send me the information requested about your student via email so I can have the best contact information for you. I look forward to having a great year this school year!
Student Expectations
I have 5 basic guidelines for behavior in my classroom: Be responsible. (That means being responsible for your assignments, i.e completing and turning in all work on time; and being responsible for your own learning.), Be prepared. (Have necessary materials for class and be prepared and ready to work), Be respectful. This is done by: Show respect for yourself and others. When you are participating in conferences, working collaboratively with other students, or posting in discussions; I expect everyone to be respectful to one another and to me. Be appropriate. All behaviors should be appropriate for a healthy learning environment. Make sure anything you post, comment on, or turn in is appropriate for the classroom. And Be attentive (Be attentive and follow directions the first time they are given). In addition to that I request that students make sure they do the following:
1. No matter how hard you think the work is, do your best.
2. Follow any other school rules.
3. We may be working inside of a virtual classroom, but the same rules apply as if we were in an actual classroom. I still expect everyone to participate and behave appropriately when attending online class. You may be working on assignments from home, but this is still school, and everyone should keep in mind that the goal here is to learn.
